95% of blogs abandoned

June 20th, 2009

Imagine that

Why has this blog been abandoned?
1) The boy will not allow pictures to be taken of him.
2) Wordpress update made things much much worse to edit. Different things broken for different users. Updating again is a chore.

3) Laura is on bookface all day, every day.
4) Birth of a baby not imminent.
5) Reducing photos sizes is a total pain.

6) Wordpress does other miserable things, like changing the spacing in the above list. Great.

But I’ll upload a couple pix since I am here complaining…

Eno’s Paw

January 24th, 2009

Happy New Year!

Eno has given us a few scares recently, but this one is tough to get around. He has bone cancer in his paw, or his ankle to be specific. It is a fast one and it is quickly taking his right paw out of service. It is tough to see because he still is his old self. He’s pretty much recovered from his earlier bouts, but this is painful for him and not retreating.

So, we will likely have to say goodbye to our old pal this spring. It is very hard! But we love him and he loves us and we’ll do what we can to see that he goes out in the best way possible.

Right On

November 4th, 2008

President Obama. I hope this is the end of the slow motion disaster that we’ve been through for years now. There’s Obama in Grant Park. Nice! I liked McCain’s concession speech, to bad the nutbags they’d whipped up couldn’t quit booing.

Tucked Waylon in bed tonight and told him tomorrow is a new day. I hope it really is.

Claremont

September 8th, 2008

There’s some pretty steep hills in Berkeley. You’d never do them on a skateboard. Never, ever, ever.

Unless you’re a complete nut.

Back from AK

September 6th, 2008

We’re back to the craziness - work and Waylon, work and Waylon. Luckily we love both. And we do squeeze in a couple other things. Tonight I have some precious time - should I watch a movie or blog? Let’s blog! I know some grandparents out there would appreciate seeing photographs. So here’s our August - what a crazy month…

Still blogin

August 25th, 2008

We’re still around. There has been absolutely no time for blogging for months. Tom and Laura are in total crazy time at work and Waylon is a busy bee as well. Today, we’re finally on vacation for a bit. Juneau is great. We are staying with Matt and Carrie and Torsten. First thing we did was go to a wedding, then to the awesome potlatch reception. Next day we went to the glacier and saw a bear there, which was really cool. The kids went to the salmon hatchery today and had more good fun.

The uploads of pix aren’t working, so its old school with the web albums.

Something else

May 26th, 2008

Note the addition of a Young Boy category. Baby doesn’t really work anymore. But we’ll keep that category around, just in case. :)

Different topic. Movies.

OK, comic movies done in the past 10 years suck. Mostly suck. X-Men 1,2 were alright, but 3 apparently sucked ass. I think all the Spiderman movies sucked. Particularly the 2nd one that everyone *loves*. The Fantastic Four movies suck ass BIGTIME. Daredevil sucked donkey balls. Don’t say “but..But”. No. The movie you have in mind sucked. It sucked! Superman II has not been topped. The Batman series since has had some good moments (think Joker=Jack Nicholson). Batman Begins did not do it (close, though). This summer The Dark Knight may not suck at all. I hope it doesn’t, anyway.

Iron Man is the best comic movie in 20 years. Go see Iron Man now. Do not miss it.

Then to continue on your Robert Downey Jr. kick, buy A Scanner Darkly. Or put it in your queue. You don’t need to wonder why, just do it. It’s the craziest movie. Is that guy going to get an award or something for his body of work that is becoming amazing? Every character in that movie is great, even “Bob”.

May done

We’re all out of town now, see you in St. Louis. A few recent pix before I go.
